Airport Outfit

My holiday to Malta is looming and as I am admittedly a packing and airport control freak I have set today to be airport planning day.

I have been getting inspiration from the WWW, and have come to the conclusion that this is how not to do it...

Slightly impractical Gaga?

This is more my cup of tea. Full marks Rhianna...

This would be the perfect outfit for me...

Comfy yet stylish. Loose maxi dress, warm enough on the plane but should not break into a sweat when I arrive. Casual jumper for if i do get cold. Stacked heel shoe, easy to slip off on the plane and will save me weight in my suitcase for more unnecessary clothes. Over sized bag for all my bits and bobs. Classic watch and sunglasses to accessorise.

Vali Myers, Witch musings

Vali Myers, the dancer, artist, muse with crazy red hair and a tattoed face was the inspiration of many writers and painters including Tennessee Williams, Cocteau, Genet and Dali. She was born in Australia but moved to Paris when she started drawing, then she fell in love with a 14th century villa in Positano, Italy, and indulged in another passion, stray animals, which she sheleted. Crazy Cat Lady? One of my personal career aspirations. Then in the 80′s she moved to New York and stayed at the Chelsea Hotel and befriended  Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe. She later went back to Melbourne in late 90′s where she died at the age of 72.

I've always had a fascination with witches and Myers had often been accused of being one. Apart from that, her sense of style and the portrayal of her is very witch like. In a cool bohemian, sexy way, as aposed to a fake cobweb halloween, stereotypical way.

Popping my Cherry with White Lace

Okay so here goes, my first post.

I am writing this blog in hope to relieve my pent up frustrations on my lack of creativity since leaving university!

I am intending to talk about mainly Fashion and all things Clothing, you may see the odd bit of illustration, music and such depending on where my mood takes me!

So i decided to pop my Blog cherry with the royal wedding seen as Kate has got me dragging all my white lace back out from the depth of my wardrobe.

Happy Royal Wedding!

It won't happen many more times in my lifetime and seen as i was a mere twinkle in my Mother's eye when Charles and Diana got Wed, I decided I'd embrace it. Yes it's already been said a million times that Kate looked absolutely amazing, but obviously the praise her and the beautiful dress received was well deserved. The dress which was designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen, was classic and beautiful. Don't think I would have selected better myself! (Hmmm if only I had that kind of money/body.)

"I am delighted that the dress represents the best of British craftsmanship. Alexander McQueen's designs are all about bringing contrasts together to create startling and beautiful clothes and I hope that by marrying traditional fabrics and lacework, with a modern structure and design we have created a beautiful dress for Catherine on her wedding day . Catherine looked absolutely stunning today, and the team at Alexander McQueen are very proud of what we have created." Sarah Burton

The dress has been likened to that of Grace Kelly's dress with I am in full agreement with.

Grace Kelly

This gives us more reason to get excited about Spring 2011's current love affair with white lace.

Of course the designers are at it most S/S seasons.

And in fitting with the wedding colour and fabric theme, thought I would do some Internet window browsing. Here's some amazing white and cream lace number's which are even more irresistible with all of this in mind.

All dresses available at http://www.asos.com/ in 'dresses'.

I wonder if there anyway to make Internet post-it notes so I can hint at my Boyfriend..?
