Vali Myers, Witch musings

Vali Myers, the dancer, artist, muse with crazy red hair and a tattoed face was the inspiration of many writers and painters including Tennessee Williams, Cocteau, Genet and Dali. She was born in Australia but moved to Paris when she started drawing, then she fell in love with a 14th century villa in Positano, Italy, and indulged in another passion, stray animals, which she sheleted. Crazy Cat Lady? One of my personal career aspirations. Then in the 80′s she moved to New York and stayed at the Chelsea Hotel and befriended  Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe. She later went back to Melbourne in late 90′s where she died at the age of 72.

I've always had a fascination with witches and Myers had often been accused of being one. Apart from that, her sense of style and the portrayal of her is very witch like. In a cool bohemian, sexy way, as aposed to a fake cobweb halloween, stereotypical way.
